I forgot to mention in my last blog that on Monday night I attended a writer’s group in Portland. As usual, it was interesting to see other authors in different genres facing the same issues. We talked about character development, writing software, and research tools.
It’s going to be interesting to see how this new group works out. This is a different concept than what I’ve been used to. In time I’m sure I’ll get used to it. When I was in the High Desert Chapter, California Writer’s Club in Apple Valley we covered many of the issues in our monthly meetings and/or our bi-weekly critique group sessions.
Here in Portland I’ve found two critique groups and a discussion group that meet at various times. All told I think I spend the same amount of time with other writers as I did in Apple Valley.
It’s been fun and I feel very productive and full of give and take.
Thanks again for your interest.
Jim
