I spent Labor Day Weekend at the NWCWC’s Reenactment which was held at Ft. Stevens. It was a very exciting event. I’m looking forward to participating in more of this type of event in the future.
I’m all packed and ready to leave for my trip south. Yesterday I received an e-mail from the Commander of the Sacramento SCV Camp. I’d asked if any of his members would be interested in being interviewed about their ancestors who fought in “Mr. Lincoln’s War.”
In his reply he asked if I’d be willing to speak at their September meeting. I’m really looking forward to meeting them.
After that meeting I hope to schedule and possibly interview some of them for background material for “What Happened At Morningstar Pass.” I’m about half-way through the third chapter of this murder mystery and I’ve blocked out the fourth and fifth chapters.
Someone asked how long W.H.A.M.P. will be. I don’t know. In my first two novels I used the military phonetic alphabet and was limited to 26 chapters. I’m going to take my editor’s advice and “Don’t worry about the length, just tell the story. You’ll know when it’s finished.”
Then next Monday and Tuesday (15 and 16 September) I’ll be at the Travis AFB Main Exchange (from 0900 – 1700). I hope to see some of you there.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, the next event will be at the: Sons Of Confederate Veterans Pacific Northwest Division Convention and Grand Ball. Visit my website, jameselstad.com if you need the address and times.
Thanks again for your interest and support.
