I’m leaving Travis AFB this morning. I had a very successful trip. Sold a fair number of books, but more importantly, I was able to speak to a SCV Camp and make new friends.
The most interesting aspect was that while I was interviewing a SCV member, I realized that I had found evidence of Joseph C. Fendemere III’s ancestors. I’ll have to flesh it out, but those who’ve read both of my books will remember that name as a member of the Knights Of The Golden Circle.
While I was talking to someone in Placerville, CA I understood that Joseph’s great-great-great-great grandfather was a cousin, and a member of the San Jose Chapter of the Knights Of The Golden Circle. Now all I have to do is figure out all the details.
So it looks like I’ll be coming back to Travis and Placerville in late April/early May for another research trip. Hopefully I’ll meet some of you that I met this past weekend at that time.
On another note, I’m continuing to research avenues to get both “Comes The Southern Revolution” and “Comes The Retribution” on an audio file. More in the next week or so. Keep checking jameselstad.com for updates.
