Took today off and did practically nothing but play with grandchildren. Tomorrow I leave Jacksonville, NC for the Sons of Confederate Veterans Reunion in Charleston, SC. I hope to see you there.
By the end of the week I hope to finalize plans for book signings in Sacramento and the Bay Area. Keep checking my website, jameselstad.com, for details.
Today I officially started researching for the first novel in a prequel trilogy to the “Comes The” series. It will be set in a town in southwestern Colorado in between 1870 and 1900. In the first chapter a pillar of the community is killed. During the story as the sheriff tries to find the murderer he’s hampered by Rebel and Yankee veterans who are more interested in re-living the recent conflict than in helping him find the guilty party.
Keep checking my website for updates on how the new manuscript is coming along. I don’t know how long it’ll take me to get this one done. “Comes The Southern Revolution” took me three years. “Comes The Retribution” took me less than two years. Since I’m starting from scratch and have a lot of research to do, I’m thinking it’ll take me at least two-and-a-half years to get this one out.
Thanks for your support; I look forward to seeing some of you at the reunion.
Jim
