For those who’re new to my blog site, my novel, “Comes The Southern Revolution,” is a future fiction story about a National Guard General who resumes “The War Between The States” in 2016. The premise is that General Robert E. Lee wanted his grandson to get an education in how to handle his finances. Upon his death, the twelve men he chose convinced the boy that he really wanted you to resume “Lincoln’s War.”
When I started my original novel, Comes The Southern Revolution, I wasn’t expecting secession to be such a timely issue. Now that I’m marketing CSR and working on the sequel, Comes The Retribution, I realize there’s a treasure trove of information that needs to be discussed. I’ve been researching and interviewing people from all walks of life about the real issues of the original conflict and how those issues have been timeless and are relevant today.
One thing that seems to be constant, whether I’ve traveled in the north or south, is that people all over the country want change for the better, they want to be involved in that change and not have it forced down their throats.
What state are you from? What is your interest in the Civil War?
What knowledge do you have of “The Knights of the Golden Circle”? This group will play a large part in the sequel. I want to make sure that I get my facts straight before weaving their beliefs into the storyline. I’ve surfed the internet about KGC, but I’d like to base my tale on stories and facts, not just what I’ve gleaned from the net.
Chapter 3 of the sequel is nearly complete, and some of my research has been incorporated into the current draft. I’ll be producing almost 3,000 words every two weeks for my critique group, so all the information you can give me will help.
Your comments are welcome, I’d like to see a lively discussion about all this.
